  • Given the recent revelations over that past few years that outside influencers have infiltrated networks on both the democratic and republican side, a feeling of constant suspicion and distrust for our current election process has grown and is a primary concern as we prepare for the 2018 midterm elections. The form of espionage that countries wage against each other has certainly grown into the cyber realm, and much like the United States, other countries such as China, Germany, and Russia are using this form of espionage to influence voters in an attempt to swing elections in a way that benefits the intruding country. With the 2018 midterm elections coming up, how worried are you for outsider interference? What do you think can be done to combat international election meddling? Extra question: The United States actively influences elections/regime shifts worldwide through diplomatic and cyber means. Are we hypocrites for blaming other countries for election meddling while not holding our country (USA) accountable in the same regard? https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/26/magazine/election-security-crisis-midterms.html

  • In the section that allows you to submit a research tool, the field background turns from blue to white when it is selected and the text remains white, rendering the text invisible until the user switches focus to a different field. Also I'd recommend making the "thanks for your submission" message a bit more prominent and harder to miss. (On that note, if I did accidentally submit the same suggestion twice, sorry about that.)
